Walter Josey, 83, of 619 Keowee Rd., died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.

Born in Faith, N.C., he was a son of the late Lafatte Josey and Lillie Coble Josey. Retired: National Automatic Sprinkler Co. Veteran: U.S. Marine Corps. Faith: Lutheran.

Survivors: wife, Sallie Todd Taylor Josey; five children; one brother; one sister; and a number of grandchildren.

Graveside service: 11 a.m. today at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. -- The McDougald Funeral Home.
