Tanya Dawn Josey
26, Maple
Hill Drive, Spry Bay, died December 30, 1997,
in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Sheet Harbour. Born in Sheet Harbour, October 22, 1971,
she was a daughter of Kenneth W. and Lucinda C. (Naugler) Josey. She graduated
from Duncan MacMillan High
School in
1991 and I.W. Akerley Community
College in
1993, receiving her degree in business administration. At the time of her
death, she was presiding worthy matron of Maple Leaf Chapter 23 OES, Sheet Harbour, and an active member of St. James Anglican Church, Spry Bay. She was employed for a time as a cashier with Lawton's Drugs, Sheet Harbour. Despite her 19-year battle with cancer, she remained
active and excelled in whatever she encountered. Her oil paintings of Eastern Shore
scenes and others are spread throughout her room. She also mastered the art of
the piano and needlepoint work. Surviving are sister, Tracey (Mrs. Jamie
Caddick), Dartmouth; boyfriend, James Scrivens; maternal grandfather, Elmer
Naugler, Sheet Harbour; great-grandparents, Gertie Chittick, Sheet Harbour; Walter and Lucinda Naugler, Truro.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Barbara Naugler; paternal
grandparents, Bartlett and Madeline Josey.
