Sarah Meadows Josey McDonald

     Mrs. Sarah Josey McDonald passed away Tuesday evening, August 13th, 2024, at the age of 93. 

     Her service will be conducted at 11:00 on Saturday morning, August 17th, 2024, by the graveside of Darlington Memory Gardens with Reverend Kitral Benton and Reverend Danny Nicholson officiating. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening, August 16th, 2024, from 5-7 at Norton Funeral Home.

     Mrs. McDonald was born in Darlington, a daughter of the late Thomas Coke & Lottie Mae Dixon Josey. She was the owner/operator of Old McDonald’s Daycare for 43 years and fostered children for 25 years. Sarah was a member of Whispering Pines Baptist Church.

     Surviving are her children: Woodrow M. “Big Mack” McDonald, Brenda McDonald, Sarah Jean McDonald, and Gloria McDonald all of Hartsville; special child, Michael (Allison) Sanders; grandchild, Maverick Sanders; and numerous daycare and foster children. 

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woodrow McDonald; son, Wayne McDonald; and sister, Lorena Douglas.
