RUBY L. 'WEEZIE' BROCIOUS
BOARDMAN – Ruby L. “Weezie” Brocious, 78, died Oct. 28, 2016, at her residence,
with her loving family by her side.
Ruby was born Aug. 8, 1938, in Youngstown, a daughter of Zebulan and Letha
Burrell Josey. She worked in private home health care and most recently was a
clerk at Sheetz in Canfield. Ruby was a 40-year member of the Bethel Lutheran
Church in Boardman, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed traveling,
quilting, and sewing.
She leaves two daughters, Debra Greene of Struthers and Jacqueline Renee Dugan
of Niles; two sons, John (Cheryl) Brocious Jr. of St. Louis and Donald (Sue
Witherow) Brocious of Youngstown; four sisters, Mary Daniels of Struthers,
Shirley Rispinto of Campbell, Sandy (Raymond) Benson of Austintown, and Judy
(Gary) Isaacson of Poland; 10 grandchildren, George, Jason (Terri), Rhiannon,
Jeremy, Daniel Richard, Justin, John Paul (Natalie), Daniel Allen, David, and
Jessica; and seven great-grandchildren, Jason , Autumn, Nicolina, Ethan,
Amilliona, Jonathan and Johnathon David. She also leaves her fiancé for many
years, Thomas Page of Boardman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by two brothers, Jake and Henry; and
three sisters, Dorothy Melia, Betty DeVan, and Gladys Bonish.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church, 425
Crestview Drive in Boardman, with Pastor Richard Kidd officiating. Entombment
will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Davis-Becker
Funeral Home, 8536 Market St. in Boardman, and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
at the church.
