Robert
Bob Jossy passed away Feb.
2, 2016,
at home. He was born June 8, 1925, in Portland to John A. and Jean
(Wildfong) Jossy. After
graduating from Newberg High School in 1943, Bob joined
the U.S. Navy serving from 1943 to 1946 during WWII and again in Korea from 1951 to 1952
aboard the air craft carrier the U.S.S. Bon Homme
Richard. Bob married Dorthy (Ellingsworth)
Lenehan on Aug.
27, 1954.
They had three children, Kimberly, Leslie and John. They later divorced. Bob
married Patricia (Grubbe) Jeremiah Nov.
13, 1970.
Bob had a varied working career: Newberg Truck Line, PGE, Prudential Insurance
Co., United Buckingham, Holman Transfer and Hannon Bros. He enjoyed his
position as campus bus driver at OHSU from 1970 through 1990. He always had a
smile or a joke for the students and patients. He retired Dec.
31, 1990.
Bob loved the Oregon Coast and Central Oregon. He was an avid
golfer and played many courses in Oregon and California with his fellow
golfers. Bob and Patricia loved to dance and listen to Jazz. Bob had a great
singing voice and every anniversary sang Day by Day to Pat. Bob is survived by
his wife, Patricia; children, Kim Richter, Leslie Jones and John Jossy; stepdaughters Marla Jeremiah and Sharon Daye; grandchildren, Laura, Megan, Kiley,
Susannah and Sean. Bob was predeceased by his parents and sister, Bernice
Murphy. As per Bobs wishes, there will be no formal services. There will be a
short military ceremony at 2 p.m. Friday,
Feb. 26, 2016,
in Willamette National Cemetery.
