Odessa Josey McCart, age 78 of Laurel Hill, Florida, passed away in a Crestview hospital Thursday, September 1, 2011. She was born in Covington County Alabama the daughter of the late Irving Josey and Lillie Mae Williamson Josey. The widow of the late Shelby McCart, she was a homemaker and was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed board and card games with her sisters over the years. She was a very giving person not only to her family but to her many friends. Survivors are daughter, Shirley Hendrickson and husband Dean of Crestview, Florida, son, Donald Joe McCart and wife Darlene of Headland, Alabama, 3 sisters, Reaby McCutcheon and husband Mike of Auburn, Alabama, Mary Quinate of Lompoc, CA., Carolyn Stevens of Crestview, Florida, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby McCart, daughter, Rita Pickron and a great grandson, Gage Svetlik. Funeral services 2PM Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Day officiating. Interment in the Clear Springs Cemetery.
