Biography Marie Jackson, 93, died Friday, January 7,
2011
in a Cameron hospital. Memorial services were held Sunday,
January 9, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cameron with Rev.
Doug Budd officiating. Mrs. Jackson was born January
9, 1917
in Benchley to Lee and Minnie (Allen) Josey. She
graduated from Hearne High School and then attended
St. Edwards Nursing School in Cameron. She married F. E. Jackson on October
12, 1939
and he preceded her in death in 1990. After graduating from Nurses school she
worked as a private duty nurse. Later, she worked for several local doctors and
then went to work as a school nurse in 1955. After retiring from the school she
worked for the Milam County Health Department. She was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church, where she had taught Sunday school and served as an elder
of the church. She had served on the board of the Cameron Thrift Shop. Two
grandsons, John Dale Davenport and James Lee Davenport and 5 siblings also
preceded her in death. Survivors include: 3 daughtersFrances
(Fran) McGuire & husband Nick of College Station Josey Davenport &
husband Billy of Rosenberg Barbara Crane & husband Andy of College Station NieceGeorgie Jackson of Cameron 4 grandchildren and 12
great grandchildren Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or
