Mary Lou Kestler Josey, 76, of Statesville, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at Statesville Brian Nursing Center. She was born on Dec. 19, 1932, in Iredell County, and was the daughter of the late Clarence Wil-liam Kestler and Ollie Mae Christenberry Kestler. Mrs. Josey attended Statesville City schools and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church. She enjoyed working with her hands, painting and making crafts. She was a floral designer for many years and last worked at Johnson Greenhouse. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Josey was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Wade Thompson. Survivors include a son, Joe Terry Josey, of Troutman; a daughter, Donna Renee Johnson and husband, Donald, of Troutman; a granddaughter, Danielle Caitlin Johnson, of Troutman; and a grandson, William Steele Johnson, of Troutman. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at Welcome Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ken Clark officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 3-4 p.m. Sunday at the church. Active pallbearers will be Edward Nesbit, Ryan Scott, Billy Smith, Eddie Johnson, Butch Waugh and Bobby Dagenhart.
