LUTHER J. JOSEY Jr.

ST. CHARLES -- Luther J. Josey Jr., 81, husband of Mary B. Josey, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born in Lee County, he was a son of the late Luther F. Josey Sr. and the late Edith Scarborough Josey.

"Josey," a retired farmer, will be remembered for the joy he brought to his family, friends and all who knew him.

Survivors besides his wife of St. Charles include a son, Luther "Luke" F. Josey III and his wife, Gwen, of St. Charles; two daughters, Robin J. Riggs and her husband, Bobby, of Wando and Mary Lyde Armour and her husband, Davis, of Woodruff; three sisters, Floride Reynolds of Andrews, Wave Parks of Columbia and Lucia Caldwell of Prosperity; and four grandchildren, John Josey of Bishopville, C.J. Armour of Woodruff, Ryan Riggs and Sara Riggs, both of Wando.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Elliott Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Griggs officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home and other times at the home, 3565 Manville-St. Charles Road.
