Lurline Merritt Josey

Funeral services for Lurline Merritt Josey will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Welch Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Oddfellows Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Byron Malone and Pastor Hilton "Butch" Simmons will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Josey died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. She was 91.

A Sharkey County native, she was a homemaker and Starkville resident.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William "Dink" Josey.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lynn and Larry Davis of Modoc, S.C., Carolyn and Greg Lewis of Picayune and Anna Kathryn and Paul Bates of Richland; two sons, Jerry Josey and Mike Josey, both of Starkville; one sister, Bertha Vickers of Sturgis; one brother, Leon Merritt of Louisville; and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
