Lonnie
Little Josey, 69, of 956 McPherson Road, Sanford, died Sunday, Aug.
6, 2006, at
his home. He was born March 20, 1937, the son of the late Carl
"Mott" and Lucy Irene Keck Josey. Mr. Josey was a native of Chatham County, a Korean veteran and was a member
of Tyson's Creek Baptist Church. He was retired from Acme McCrary
Corporation after 39 years. He was preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Lynn
Josey. Mr. Josey is survived by his wife, Dianne Lynn Wolfe Josey; two
daughters, Sherry Josey Street and husband, Shannon, Francis, and April Cheek
both of Elkin; two sons, Bucky Josey Sr. and wife, Dottie, of Bear Creek, and
Ben Josey and wife, Mitzi of Sanford; two sisters, Sarah Howard and husband,
Gary, of Bear Creek, and Helen Brooks and husband, Floyd, of Saxapahaw; three brothers, Arnold Josey and wife, Ann, of
Denton, Texas, Earl Josey and wife, Gale, of Bear Creek, and Wayne Josey and
wife, Gloria, of Siler City; seven grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Smith & Buckner
Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, (919) 742-2151. The funeral will be
held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tyson's Creek Baptist Church, 10891 Siler City-Glendon Road, Bear Creek, with Dr. Walter YoHo and the Rev. Randy Hand officiating. Burial will be
in Tyson's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
