John Richard Josey Obit, 7 Aug 1957 -8 May 2023

John Richard Josey, age 65, went home to be with the Lord May 8, 2023. He was a 1975 graduate of George County High School. He worked for over 43 years as an electrician and was a member of IBEW Local 903. He greatly enjoyed music of all genres and was a talented wood-worker. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Frances Josey; siblings, Harvey Jack Lamb, William Lamb and Betty Jo McBryde.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, June Josey; children, John Richard (Shelia) Josey, II and Jason (Leslie) Josey; grandchildren, Rylee, Maggie, Christopher and Keelin (Chloe); sister, Voncile Lamb; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Visitation for John Richard Josey will be Friday, May 12, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 13, 2023 beginning at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. David Newton officiating. Burial will follow in Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Mike Henderson, Eddie Burgess, Ed Bexley, Brian Nash, David Smith and Byron Roseberry.
