John Alan Josey, 69, of Statesville, passed away Thursday evening, December 23, 2010, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was a graduate of Statesville Senior High School Class of 1959, graduated from Mitchell College in 1961 where he was awarded the President's Award, and received his B.A. Degree from Lenior Rhyne College in Mathematics in 1963. On October 29, 1966, he was married to Brenda Jo Williams Josey who died February 5, 1994. John worked in Winston-Salem at MSA, in Atlanta, GA for American Software, and in Hickory, N.C. for Corning. He was a Program Analyst and worked with computers. John is survived by one son, Giles "Guy" Knox and wife Christa of Troutman, two grandsons, Sage and Ramsey Knox; two sisters, Janice Josey Everidge and Carole Josey Overcash, both of Statesville; one brother, Glenn Josey and wife Phyllis of Denver, CO. Also surviving are brothers-in-law David Williams and wife Debbie and Hiriam Williams both of Statesville; two sisters-in-law, Marie Steele and husband Hugh and Linda Knox of Winston-Salem, N.C.; his uncle and aunt, Robert and Mollie Rary and aunt Helen Josey Byers, both of Statesville. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 28, 2010, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Hospice Chaplin Tom Corbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 2 until 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County,
