Jesse Edmund Josey passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 29th at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House, he was 84. Mr. Josey was born on October 5th, 1933 to Nannie Long and Albert Josey in Pfafftown. Jesse worked for himself and with his children as a builder and brick mason. He enjoyed camping with his family and playing music. Jesse was a talented guitar and bass player. He was playing bluegrass up into his eighties. Mr. Josey was a devoted member of Middle Cross Baptist church. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Wynoka Josey Doub. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Mary Jester Josey, three sons; Jesse Michael Josey (Kathy), Anthony Bryan Josey (Autumn), and Christopher Allan Josey (Angie), six grandchildren; Lori, Jason, Mathew, Bryan, Shane, and Jennifer. A funeral service to remember his life will be held at Salem Funeral Home, Reynolda Chapel, 2951 Reynolda Rd. on Tuesday, October 2nd at 11:00 a.m with a visitation held on hour before at 10:00 a.m. A burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park.
