Jean E. Josey, 62 of Palm Coast, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013, at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice
House.Mrs. Josey was born in Wagram, NC., a daughter of John and Annie McKay Brown. She graduated from Shaw High School, and was a member of the Spring Branch Baptist Church in Wagram, NC. Mrs. Josey also attended Queens College of New York, majoring in early childhood education. Mrs. Josey retired from the Stagg Street Day Care Center in Brooklyn, New York and also the Flagler County Schools in Palm Coast. She enjoyed cooking, baking and especially shopping. Besides her mother, Annie L. Brown of Wagram, NC., she is survived by her husband of 44 years, Willie J. Josey, whom she married November 23, 1968; one daughter, Veronica Josey of Jacksonville, one son, Anthony T. Josey of Atlanta, Ga., three sisters, Mary Bembry and Annie Brown, both of Greensboro, NC, and Joyce Brown of Wagram, NC.; one brother, James McKoy of McClellandtown, PA., and one granddaughter, Shayla Josey. Besides her father, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Lorenzo McKoy, John and Robert Brown. Family and friends will be received Wednesday, from 5-8 pm at the Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South in Flagler Beach, and Thursday from 10:30 - 11:00 am at the First AME Church, 91 Old Kings Road North in Palm Coast, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.
