Hugh Forest Josey

Mr. Hugh F. Josey, 58, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fleming Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Conner officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Josey, a native of Riddleville, had retired as a salesman from Sunbeam/Colonial Baking Co. and was a former basketball referee and softball umpire. He was a member of Spring Hill Hunting Club and Fleming Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pansy Stanley Josey; a son, Christopher Josey, Augusta; two daughters, Sandra J. Thomas, North Augusta, and Marcy J. Hartley, Augusta; a brother, Verlon E. Josey, Sandersville; three sisters, Sarah Hicks and Winnie J. Mcllvried, both of North Augusta, and Rachel J. Meadows, Augusta; and three grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Hicks, Glen Hicks, Gerald Meadows, Randy Josey, Lynn Hicks, Steve Mcllvried, Edwin Josey and Lewis Josey.

Memorials may be made to Fleming Baptist Church Building Fund, 3027 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA 30906.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Poteet Funeral Home, Peach Orchard Road.
