Harold Josey STATESVILLE Harold Clay Josey, 71, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013. Mr. Josey was born May 20, 1941, in Statesville, to the late David Sidney and Nellie Mae Westmoreland Josey. On June 29, 1963, he married the former Betty Marlowe, who survives. He was a 1959 Statesville High School graduate, U.S. Air Force Veteran , and retired after 25 years of service at CommScope, Inc. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Josey and Richard Josey; and a brother-in-law, Walter W. Marlowe. Along with his wife, Mr. Josey, is survived by four children, Doug Josey (Terri), of Arden, Roger Josey (Shannon), of Statesville, Mark Josey, of Statesville and Jennifer Allen (Trent), of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Adam Josey (Becky), of Indian Trail, Ethan Josey, of Asheville, Katelyn Josey, and Alison Josey, both of Statesville; and one great-grandchild, Graham Josey. He is further survived by siblings, Brenda (Harry) Walker, Vickie Rufty, Patricia Josey, all of Statesville, Mary Nell Thompson, of Lugoff, S.C. and Don (Rhonda) Josey, of Denver, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Joyce Josey, of Statesville; brother-in-law, Danny (Pam) Marlowe, of Statesville; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends this evening (Monday, April 29), from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
