Mrs. Frances G. Josey

Mrs. Frances Gibson Josey, 88, of Waynesboro died at her residence Monday May 23, 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 25, in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Melissa Weathers officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro.

Mrs. Josey was born May 20, 1917 in Saluda County, SC to the late Ervin and Buna Matilda Morse Gibson. She retired in 1967 as a weaver for King Mill. She was a member of Berlin United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harley Delma Josey on Nov. 1, 1987; her sister Shirley Gibson, four brothers Kenneth, Henry, Daryl and Cromer Gibson. Mrs. Josey is survived by two sons Wayne Josey (Linda D.) and Chason Josey (Linda T.) all of Hephzibah. Other survivors include her sister in laws Frances Gibson, Jacksonville, FL; Ruby Gibson, Appling GA; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Josey’s grandsons, Art Caudill, Jerry Josey, Tony Bentley, Brian Josey, Andy Durrence and Troy Josey will be pallbearers.

The family request that memorials be made, in the name of Frances G. Josey, to the Berlin United Methodist Church Building Fund 1518 Hephzibah-McBean Road Hephzibah, GA 30815.
