Flynt Milas Josey
Jr. 5 Jan 1934 – 28 Feb 2011
77, of Charlotte, died on February 28,
2011 at Presbyterian Hospital. His cherished memory will forever be
remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchild. He was
born in Albemarle, NC on January 5, 1934 to Flynt and Ruby Varner Josey. Flynt
was a member of the Providence United Methodist Church for the last 43 years and was an avid
member of the Chipley Bible Class. In Flynt's younger years he played the
trombone for the local Josey Brown Band. His interests also included being a
member of the "Queen City Tennis League" in Charlotte, a sport he truly loved. Survivors
include his wife of 48 years, Nancy Josey of Charlotte; one son Phil Josey and
his wife Pam of Charlotte; one daughter Monte Josey Kearns and her husband
Donald Jr. of Pickerington, Ohio; four grandchildren Brad Josey and his wife
Erin, Kyle Josey, Jason Kearns and Jessica Kearns; one great grandchild Bryson
Josey; one brother Bob Josey and his wife Gail; an lastly his beloved dog
"Jessie". A Graveside Service will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Fairview Memorial Park, 1425 E. Main St., Albemarle, NC 28001. A Memorial Service will follow on the
same day at 2:00 pm at Providence United Methodist Church, 2810 Providence Rd. Charlotte, NC 28211 with Dr. Ken Carter and Dr. Bill
Jeffries officiating. The family will receive friends at the conclusion of the
service in the atrium of the church. McEwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel is
serving the family.
