Elizabeth LaVerne Josey, 91, went to her forever home Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Extendicare Nursing Home in Dothan, Alabama.

Graveside services will be held
11 AM, Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the Irwinville Cemetery in Irwinville, Georgia, with Father Hallock Martin officiating.

Ms. Josey was born
January 25, 1931, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late James and Euna Roberts Josey. She grew up in Irwinville and graduated from Irwinville High School. She was married to G.T. “Red” Raines and worked for the telephone company. Ms. Josey loved to cook and sew for her family. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Kelley (Dennis) of
Woodstock; a son, Gary Raines (Kristen) of Woodstock; a brother, Jimmy Josey (Avis) of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Elizabeth Bearden (Stanley), Molly Pittman and Sara Long (Matt) and two great-grandchildren: Tyler Bearden and Lennon Long. Several nieces and nephews and extended family also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Troy Josey and Bobby Josey and a sister, Elsie Mae Josey.
