Mrs. Elizabeth Josey Myers SCRANTON - Mrs. Elizabeth Josey Myers, 96, wife of the late Boyce Bryan Myers, Jr., died Monday, November 15, 2010, at McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at Scranton Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Scranton Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, SC. Mrs. Myers was born on December 15, 1913, in Lee County and was raised by the Josey Family of Florence. She attended McClenaghan High School and graduated from the McLeod Infirmary School of Nurshing in 1936 as a Registered Nurse. She retired as school nurse from Florence School District 3. Mrs. Myers was an active member of Scranton Baptist Church while in good health serving as a Bible Study leader. She was an avid gardener and had served as Past-President of The Rose Garden Club. Mrs. Myers was fondly known to family and friends as Josey or Grandma Josey. Surviving are: Three sons, Bryan Myers and his wife, Mary of Johnsonville, Robert Myers of Florence and Thad Myers and his wife, Taylor of Columbia; two daughters, Brenda M. Leviner of Turbeville and Janette M. Grant of Florence; ten grandchildren, Bryce Myers, Michael Myers, Tommy Leviner, Jodie Leviner Sylvester, Debera Grant, Ashley Grant Bair, Mandy Grant, Hallie Myers, Boyce Myers and Justice Myers; nine great-grandchildren and three on the way; two sisters-in-law, Miriam Myers and Hazel Watson; two nieces, Louise Whitehurst and Jean Marie Jones; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by sons-in-law, Tommy Leviner, Sr., and Carl Grant, Jr. Memorials may be made to Scranton Baptist Church, P. O. Box 130, Scranton, SC 29591 or McLeod Hospice House, 1203 E.
