Elizabeth "Betty" Josey Smith, 3 Mar 1917 - 25 Mar 1999

Statesboro - Mrs. Betty Josey Smith, 82, died March 25 at Bulloch Memorial Hospital. She was born in South Carolina and lived in Statesboro the past 75 years. She retired as manager of S&H Green Stamps after many years. She attended Georgia Teachers College (now Georgia Southern University) and was a charter member of Pittman Park United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Helen Brannen Circle.

Survivors: her husband, Thomas C. Smith of Statesboro; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sallie Hill, and Jucy and Skip Aldred, all of Statesboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Grady and Debra Smith of Statesboro; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Funeral: 4 p.m. Saturday at Joiner-Shepard Funeral Home, burial in Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro.
