Christine
Marcella Josey Dean, 93, of Moncks Corner, SC, former owner and operator of
Pleasures and Treasures in Kingsland, Georgia and Cherished Treasures in Moncks
Corner, died Monday morning at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs.
Dean’s funeral service will be 7:00 PM Thursday evening, January
11, 2024, in the
Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials may be made to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until the hour of service on Thursday at
the funeral home. Interment will be held 10:00 AM Friday morning in the Beaufort National Cemetery.
Mrs.
Dean was born April 26, 1930, in Sumter, SC, a daughter of Marion Henry Josey and
Grace Bell McCloud Josey. She was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed ceramics,
baking, cake decorating, and shopping. She had a love for her dogs and birds,
but her greatest love was for her family and spending time with them. Mrs. Dean
was very active up until she reached the age of 91. She loved children and
sharing the love of God with them and held bible study with them in “The Candy
Store” she ran out of her garage where all the neighborhood children came and
shopped for candy. Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her parents; three
brothers; two sisters; and a daughter in law, Patty Dean.
Surviving
are her husband, Jimmy Lee Dean; two daughters, Melanee
Daniels and her husband Ronnie of Moncks Corner, and Teresa Russell and her
husband Glenn of Goose Creek; a son Jimmy Rex Dean of Columbia; eight
grandchildren, April Dean Davis, Crissy Kolodziej and her husband Bobby, Leeann Wise, Ronnie
Daniels, Matthew Dean, Hannah Dean, Rachel Bridges Buster, and Jeremy Dean;
twenty great grandchildren; five great great
grandchildren; and a nephew, Tommy Brunson and his wife Ann of Jamestown.
