Bonita Josey Cochran

Funeral services for Mrs. Bonita Ann Josey Cochran will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 in the Good Hope Baptist Church in Anacoco with Rev. Huey Haymon officiating. Burial will follow in the Self Cemetery in Hornbeck under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.

Visitation will be held from Wednesday December 20, 2017 at 4:00p.m. until service time Thursday in the church.

Bonita Ann Josey Cochran was born on November 3, 1960 to L.C. & Peggy Josey in New Burn North Carolina. L.C. was working there at the time. The day they were leaving to go home Peggy went into labor with Bonita. As soon as she was released from the hospital, they traveled home. Bonita was 2 or 3 days old at the time. Bonita and Jimmy married March 24, 1984 at Good Hope Baptist Church, by Bro. Huey Haymon. They were lifetime residents of Anacoco.

Bonita worked as an employee for the Vernon Parish School Board for a number of years. At the school she was known as Kyle, Anna, and Aiden’s Maw Maw to some of the children, but some of them knew her as Mrs. B. She watched numerous children graduate from Anacoco High School, but a very special thank you goes out to Joshua Turnipseed for being such a good friend of the family and more like a son for years. Another close friend of the family was Amanda Wright or (Big Red) as some people knew her. I could go on and on about the children who used to come and spend time playing games, eating pizza, drinking tea, or just watching movies, but you all know who you are and the times that you spent at our house. To all who knew Bonita, she wished for each and every one of you to have a long and happy lifetime and memories together and to cherish each of them as they were your last days. Life is such a precious gift that God has granted us on this earth. Until we see each other again may God continue to watch over each of you and to bless you each and every day.

Bonita was preceded in death by her parents L.C. & Peggy Josey, Her in laws Thomas & Muriel Cochran, her nephew Christopher Adam Cochran, great niece Brett Danielle Self, and brothers in law Kenneth Don Williams and Aaron Cochran.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years Jimmy Robert Cochran, Her Daughter Ashley LeAnne Hillman and husband Timothy Hillman; Her Daughter Amanda Jade Branning and husband Alex Branning; Five Grandkids: Kyle Aaron, Anna Ilene, Myah Lynn Hillman, Aiden Reese and Jace Edward Branning; Her Sisters and Brothers in law: Janet & Bennie Maddox, Delilah & Douglas Perry, Glenda Kay Cochran, Linda & Billy Strickland, Kenneth & Cindy Cochran, Tommy & Valerie Cochran, Terry Wayne Cochran, and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
