Bobby Oneal Josey was born July
18, 1937
in Vivian, Louisiana. He passed away
after a short battle with cancer on July
31, 2015.
Bobby was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lessie
Doris Thornton and Ralph Alexander Josey of Vivian, Louisiana, and brother-in-law
William Harold Kennedy also of Vivian, Louisiana. He is survived by
his childhood sweetheart and wife of 61 years, Rosa Ann Kennedy Josey; his sons
John Ralph Josey and wife Brenda and their sons John Zachary Josey and Garrett
Ray Josey, and Bobby Don Josey and wife Vicki and their daughter Taryn Leigh Josey; one brother, Donald Dean Josey and wife
Joyce; and one nephew Greg Josey and wife Charlyn and
their daughter Lauren. Members of his extended family include Vanessa Kennedy,
John Kennedy, Dewey Edward Kennedy, and numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves
behind numerous close friends and colleagues. He was a member of the First
Baptist Church of Vivian, Louisiana. Bobby Josey graduated from Vivian High School in 1955 and Kilgore College in 1962. He enjoyed
a lifelong successful career in the oilfield. He worked 18 years with Milwhite/Milchem, 10 years with Drilling Tools Incorporated
and the last 15 years he owned and operated his own company, Oilfield Pushers,
Incorporated. He has been active in the community, acting as President of the
Lake Conroe Hills Home Owners Association. The visitation will be Monday,
August 3rd from 7-9 PM at the Sam Houston
Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, Texas. The funeral will
be Tuesday, August 4th at 2 PM at the Sam Houston
Memorial Funeral Home, with interment following at Smith Memorial Park. The family would
like to extend a very special thanks to the neighbors and friends of the Lake
Conroe Hills Subdivision. A warm thanks to the nurses and aides at CHI St.
Luke's Hospital in the Woodlands, Texas and the entire
staff of the Reliant Rehabilitation Hospital for their exemplary
care.
