Betty Jean Lowe Josey

Mrs. Betty Jean Josey, age 63, of Augusta, died Friday, January 10, 2003, at the University Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2003, in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery near Riddleville. Rev M. D. Cabe will officiate.

Mrs. Josey was a native of Aiken, the daughter of the late Moodrow Frampton Lowe. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Hansen Jerald Josey Sr., of Augusta; three daughters, Lawanda Jean Josey Smith of Bartow, Renee Josey Smith of Sandersville, and Jill Angela Josey of North Augusta; son, Hansen Jerald Josey Jr., of North Augusta; her mother, Mrs. Ruby Lee Watts Lowe of Clearwater; two brothers, Donald Woodrow Lowe and Royal Lowe both of Gloverville; two sisters, Shirley Lee Lowe Smith of Langley and Ruby Blanch Toole of Gloverville; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 6 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

The family suggests donations may be made to the New Bethel Baptist Church, 1839 New Bethel Road, Bartow, GA 30413.

May and Smith Funeral Directors, Sandersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
