JOSEY, AMY SASSER, from Mountain brook, Alabama, passed away Thursday
December 23, 2010. Born in Palm Beach, Florida, Amy grew up in Anderson, South Carolina and graduated from Winthrop College. A member of Mountain Brook
Presbyterian Church, Amy was a doting mother and loving wife who always had a
smile and kind words for everyone. She was an integral part of Brookwood Orthopedics from the time they started in modular
offices at Brookwood Medical Center until she retired in 2004. Amy
thoroughly enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends as well as sharing delicious
recipes with her Gourmet Club. Amy looked forward to her standing appointment
with Roger Galland and the wonderful people at Angel
Hair. She especially enjoyed watching and heartily cheering on her beloved
Tigers' during their magical football season this fall. Amy was preceded in
death by her father Emory Byron Sasser, mother Annie
Mae Russell Sasser, uncle Dean Hamilton Russell, aunt Elizabeth Russell, and her best friend and husband
Thomas Chandler Josey. Amy is survived by her sister Frances Sasser Campbell, her three boys Gregg Chandler Josey, Mark
Croswell Josey, and Rhett Dean Josey, granddaughter
Caroline McCauley Josey and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service
will be held in January, 2011.
