Amir Andre Josey was born August 10, 1986 in Newark, NJ to Angela Josey and Roland Cross. Amir received his Academic Education from The Newark Public School System. He was employed with The Newark Sanitation Company in Newark, NJ. Amir took his Shahada in 2009 the month of Ramadan at Islamic Cultural Center in Newark, NJ. Amir departed this life on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, NJ. Amir was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sally Josey Kingsberry; great grandmother, Sarah Josey; one sister, Andrea Josey; and one uncle, James Josey. Amir Leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Angela Josey and Roland Cross both of Newark, NJ; three sisters, Saleemah, Bianca and Kyasia Josey; five brothers, Hafiz, Hassan and Hakim Josey, Calib and Lamar Thompson; one niece, Channel Janiyah Josey; one nephew, Iyaad Mu'Min Josey; grandmother, Mary Smith; grandfathers, John Kingsberry and Willie Jr. Cross; three aunts, Wanda Galloway, La'Tonya Kingsberry and Donna Smith; three uncles, Anthony Kingsberry, Eric Cross and Dawon Mummad all of Newark, NJ; and a host of other relatives and friends.
