Know all
men by these presents that I WILLIAM
JOSSEY in the State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of
Twenty Five Cents, to me in hand paid by WILLIS
JOSSEY in the State aforesaid and I have granted, bargained, sold and
released and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and release unto the
said WILLIS JOSSEY, a part of several
tracts of land containing Four Hundred acres more or less being the premises
whereon WILLIAM JOSSEY formerly lived
and is thus described, Beginning ay a stake on Black River, bound on the lands
of WILLIA YATES, running in a strait
line West to a Pine which is agreed upon, then South in a straight line to a
stake in the Run of Camp Branch, being the dividing line agreed upon for a
divide in line between WILLIS JOSSEY and
NANCY JOSSEY, thence down Camp Branch to
the corner in a South East direction being the intersection of Camp Branch to
the beginning stake bounded on lands of BARRETT and JAMES WITHERSPOON, this coveted and agreed by
WILLIS JOSSEY that his Father,
WILLIAM JOSSEY shall keep, hold and use
for his own use and benefit the said land, and premises during his natural life
together with all singular, the rights, numbers, heriditaments and
appurtenances, to the said premises belonging or in anywise incident or
appertaining to have and to hold all singular the premises before mentioned
with the said WILLIS JOSSEY, his heirs
and assigns forever, and I do hereby bind myself, my heirs, Executors and
administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said promises
unto WILLIS JOSSEY, his heirs and
assigns against me and my heirs, lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any
part thereof. Witness my hand and seal this 27th day of July in the
year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty
nine and in the fifty – third year of the independence of the

Personally appeared before me JOHN HOLLAND and made his oath that he saw WILLIAM JOSSEY sign, seal and deliver this above conveyance for the intent and purpose therein mentioned and that he with JOHN BATEMAN and JACQUES BISHOP in the presence of each other witness the due execution thereof. Sworn to before me this 27th day of July 1829.

POWERS do hereby certify unto all whom it may concern that JANE JOSSEY, the wife of the writhen named WILLIAM JOSSEY did this day appear before me and upon being privately and separately examined by me, did declare that she does freely, voluntarily and without any compulsion, dread or fear of any person or freedoms, whomsoever announces release and forever relinquish unto the within named WILLIA JOSSEY, his heirs and assigns, all her interest and Estate and also all her right and claims of Dower of in or to all and singular the premises within mentioned, and released, given under my hand and seal this 27th day of July Anno domini 1829.
