            Know all men by these presents that I ROBERT  JOSEY of the State and Dist aforesaid, for and in consideration of the love and affection of which I have to bear toward my wife HESTER M. JOSEY, I do hereby give, convey and deliver unto the said HESTER M. JOSEY a certain Negro Girl slave named SILVY about five years of age which said Negro Girl slave SILVY with her future issue and increase I do hereby positively give and convey unto my said wife now and forever and at her entire disposal except that the said Negro Girl SILVY and her increase shall not be liable to any debt or debts now or hereafter to be contracted by my said wife directly or indirectly personal or by proxy against or further husband, and to prevent such a state of things and to carry out my determination that this property shall not be liable as aforementioned . I hereby declare that after my death my said wife may appoint any friend of hers to act as her trustee to prevent the liability above mentioned and alluded to, and that to such an appointment by my said wife, I hereby assent and approve. Given under my hand and seal this fifth day of June A.D. 1861
