JAMES JOSEY, PETER GREEN brought suit against the admr. (not named) of the dec'd; May, 1797. Administration (with Will annexed) grtd. LAERTES MORGAN, May, 1835 Inventory of the said admr,, Record indicates that the dec'd. willed a slave to each of his four daughters, Nov., 1835 by Cary W Josey et al (unnamed) against WILLIAM WHITEHEAD and SALLY his wife. A Negro set aside for SALLY WHITEHEAD in the division of the estate could not be handed over without a sale, The Negroes mentioned in the petition were in the possession of LAERTES MORGAN and WILLIAM WHITEHEAD. (Note- although spanning many years. this estate was not settled until the death of the widow of the dec'd. in 1835.
