ANGUS McLEOD to WILLIAM
JOSEY
The State of South
Carolina.
Know all men by these presents, that I ANGUS McLEOD
of the State aforesaid, and District of Kershaw, in consideration of the sum of
Five Hundred Dollars, to me in hand paid, by WILLIAM JOSEY, of the State
aforesaid, and District of Kershaw, have granted, sold, and released, and do by
these presents grant, bargain, sell, and released, unto the aforesaid WILLIAM
JOSEY, all that tract or parcel of land.
Containing Three Hundred and Thirty Three acres, lying
and being on the North-East side of Little Lynches Creek, on the Head of Camps
Branch, waters of the said Little Lynches Creek. Bounded on the South-West by lands belonging
to Col. CHAPMAN Snr. & JOHN C. McSWEEN.
East & North-East by lands belonging to ALEXANDER
McCASKILL Jr, & JAMES
BLAIR, and land surveyed for WILL RAMSEY.
On the West & North-West by lands belonging to
PETER McCASKILL and the aforesaid Col. CHAPMAN Snr. To have and to hold all and singular, the above mentioned premises
unto the said WILLIAM JOSEY, his heirs and assigns forever. Together with all and singular the rights,
members, hereditaments, and appurtances
whatsoever in any wise incident or appertaining to said tract or parcel of
land, unto the said WILLIAM JOSEY, his heirs, executor, administrators, or
assigns forever. And I do hereby bind
myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, to warrant, and
forever defend, the right of said land, myself, my heirs, administrators, and
assigns, claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. In witness I hereunto set my hand and seal
this 20th day of September in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Eight Hundred
and Thirty, and in the Fifty Fifth year of the Independence
of the United States of
America.

Personally
appeared JOHN WEBB and made Oath
that he saw ANGUS McLEOD, sign seal, examine, and
deliver the above conveyance for the uses and purpose herein mentioned and
delivered, and that he with DANIEL GILLIS, in the presence, of each other
witnessed the WILLIAM JOSEY due execution thereof. Sworn to
this 11th January 1831.
