We just wanted to let you know what a very special person James (Jim) JOSEY was to us.

Jim was the spark that ignited the little fire which later became a huge bonfire.

Jim had an unquenchable thirst for more knowledge about his JOSEY heritage.

He started researching his family name & the more he found, the more he became involved.

The information was so intriguing that he began to share it with everyone.

Then, he started a JOSEY family reunion and that was, and still is, a huge success.

We are all sure that Jim had no idea what a marvelous path he was blazing for future generations of

 JOSEYS

Then, he started talking and talking with Bud and Marion JOSEY, and with his contagious enthusiasm, Jim finally got Bud and Marion on the same road with the same interest and curiosity. Because of Jim, Bud and Marion then took off in their RV and spent six years on the road doing the Charles Kuralt routine, except it was a JOSEY treasure hunt.

They were determined to find every record that is in the books on every

JOSEY

They lived in courthouses, cemeteries, libraries, JOSEY households, etc. talking with anyone who knew a JOSEY.  What they collected would defy anyone’s imagination. They tracked the JOSEY surname back to England in 1565. What a family history treasure. The end result was a set of 8 volumes of JOSEY books which have been put in the

Salt Lake City LDS Library

and

Library of Congress

No other surname (so we have been told) has so much information

ALL OF THIS IS DUE TO THE ONE LITTLE SPARK THAT JIM IGNITED YEARS AGO

Jim, we are so thankful that your path crossed with ours. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts & we shall miss you very much. Just know what a legacy you have passed on to

THE HOUSE OF JOSSEY-JOSEY

(A copy of this was sent to Jim's wife, Dawn, with a plant for the service)
