Hello to Our Jossey-Josey Family:
We hope you have had a good summer. I think “Dog Days”
began in May in Mississippi,
as it rained almost every day and was extremely hot.
The 2003 Reunion in Valdosta,
GA was great; thank you, Ray and
Janeen. We appreciate each of you who worked hard to make that Reunion
a memorable and successful experience. Jackie, thank you also –
we could not do without your expertise as our secretary and
webmaster. Bud and Marion, there are not enough words to express
our gratitude to you. Thanks for getting us all connected!
We were so excited and pleased with the 2003 Reunion
that we have invited you to Mississippi
in 2005. We began looking in June for the perfect place, and we
believe we have found it. We hope you will think so,
too. The Reunion facility has been
secured – Gulf Hills Hotel and Convention Center. The hotel is
about one mile from Ocean Springs, nestled among large oak trees with
plenty of southern moss – Biloxi Bay
is just behind the hotel, and the golf course is in front. The
hotel has been renovated, and plans are ongoing for more outdoor
activities. There is a tennis court at this time; of course, the
golf course and swimming pool are available to all.
The hotel has fifty (50) rooms – some with a king-size bed, some with
two double beds – each room includes a refrigerator and
stove. If we can reserve at least thirty (30) rooms, the entire
hotel will be available for our use. The price is $89 plus tax –
includes a deluxe continental breakfast; a grill is also available on the
front edge of the golf course and serves a hot breakfast (you pay).
The Friday night cookout is being planned for the Mississippi Joseys
to serve as cooks. Don’t miss this cuisine! The Saturday
night dinner and program will be in the hotel’s banquet room.
Ocean Springs is a unique small town with a great deal of history,
art, antiques and beautiful scenery. Biloxi
is across the bridge (about two miles) – casinos are located
there. You do not want to miss a tour of “Beauvoir,” the last
home of Jefferson Davis. There is also a tour of Ship
Island that leaves Biloxi
twice daily. There are so many wonderful attractions to see that
you may want to stay for a week just to see everything.
Make your plans now for the 2005 House of Jossey-Josey Reunion
on the Mississippi Golden
Gulf Coast. We
are planning for YOU!
