She was predeceased by : her parents, Hamp Lawson and Mamie Lawson; her husband Roland D. Josey, Sr.; and her siblings, Roy, Horace Lawson, Bertha Dawson and Roshell York (Vera Asbel).

She is survived by : her sister Varah Moore; and her children, Gloria Conner (Dave), Bobbie Smith (Randy), Phil Bozeman (Lori), Danny Josey (Angie) and Marie (Brett).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 8th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Brackney Funeral Service Chapel (480 E James Lee Blvd, Crestview, FL 32539-2829). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 8th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
