Kathleen Josey Brunson-Scott
(March 23, 1925 - March 21, 2012)

Kathleen Theo Docia Josey Brunson-Scott, 86, of
Jamestown, SC, a retired LPN for the Medical University of SC and Home Health
for Berkeley County, died Wednesday morning at her residence.
Her funeral will be 11:00 AM Saturday morning, March
24, 2012, in the
Jamestown Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Causey-Brunson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at
DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening and at the church on
Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials
may be made to the Jamestown Baptist Church Family Life Center, PO Box 104, Jamestown, SC 29453.
Mrs. Brunson-Scott was born March 23, 1925, in Florence, SC, a daughter of Marion Henry Josey and
Grace Bell McCleod Josey. She attended Edmonds High School and received her nursing degree from the
Medical University of SC. She was a member of the Jamestown Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school
teacher, Prayer Warrior, choir director, WMU director, and VBS director, and
also played the piano for many years. Mrs. Brunson-Scott was Past Worthy Matron
of Rosemary Chapter 195 OES, Andrews, SC, and a member of the Berkeley Baptist
Ladies Prayer Group. She was also a member of the Berkeley Artist Guild and her
paintings won numerous awards. Mrs. Brunson-Scott was preceded in death by a
son, Robert Brunson, and a daughter, Patsy Lou Brunson. She was the widow of
Isaac Aaron “Dutch” Brunson and James W. Scott.
Surviving are, three daughters, Dr. Gloria Pipkin and Jackie B. Lucas both of Jamestown, and Penny S. Metts and her husband, J.D., of Moncks Corner; a son,
Thomas H. “Tommy” Brunson and his wife, Anne, of Jamestown; a sister, Christine
Dean of Goose Creek; five grandchildren
and eight great grandchildren.
