Doris JOSEY (Gaetz) 17 Jul 1925 – 26 May 2023

Doris also known to many as DoDo passed away Friday, May 26, 2023, just eight weeks short of her 98 birthday. Doris passed peacefully in the early hours with her nephew, Rick Gaetz, by her side at St. Vincent Nursing home. Doris was born July 17, 1925, in Musquodoboit Harbour, a daughter of Byron and Estella (Horton). Gaetz. She is survived by her two brothers, Frank, Charlie (Betty-Ann) Gaetz; many nephews, great-nephew/nieces and great great-nephews/nieces. Doris was predeceased in death by her parents; husband, Stanley Josey; her sisters, Ruby, Betty and brothers, Donald and B Stanley. Doris especially will be remembered for her fun and loving ways and her fiery spirit that served to strengthen everyone she met. A funeral service will take place at First United Church in Musquodoboit Harbour with Rev. Joan Griffin officiating July 6, at 2 p.m. The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful help and care given by St. Vincent’s Nursing Home. Donation in memory of Doris can be made to the First United Church or Twin Oaks/Birches Charitable Foundation.
