Joe Josey, Jr.

GALVESTON ? Joe Josey, Jr., 91, departed this life on Monday, March 7, 2005, at UTMB Hospital, Galveston, Texas.

Mr. Josey was born March 10, 1913, in Madisonville, Texas, and was employed as an incinerator operator with UTMB Hospital.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Josey; and one brother, Willie Josey.

He leaves with cherished memories, his wife, Earnie B. Josey; four sons, Wilson (Eloise) Josey, Joe T. (Ophelia) Josey, Burtis (Shirley L.) Josey, all of Texas City, Texas, and Joe B. (Dorothy) Josey of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Angie (Anderson) Royal of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, six great great -grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Benoit of Galveston, Texas, and Sybil Irving of Huntsville, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Timothy Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Midway, Texas. Visitation will take place from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2005, at the chapel of Fields Funeral Services.
