Ethelbert Josey
TIMMONSVILLE — Funeral services for Ethelbert Josey will be 3 PM, Thursday, July 31, 2008 at The Church in the
Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. Burial will be in the church
cemetery, directed by Young & Young of Hartsville.
Mr. Josey, 83, died Sunday,
July 27, 2008
at his residence after an illness.
Mr. Josey was born in Florence
County, a son of the late
Junies and Maggie Johnson Josey. He received his
education in the public schools in the area and served in the US Army after
being Honorably Discharged. He was a retired employee of the Florence County
School District.
He was a member of The Church in the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic
Faith, Inc., Brotherhood Organization and Deacon of the church. He heard Bishop
L. Hunter preaching on the Whole Truth Radio Broadcast about 47 years ago and
was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the Gift of the Holy
Ghost when the revelation of IN was revealed. He was a faithful member until
his health failed and he was no longer able to attend church. He worked a lot
for the church; helping to do whatever was needed and was a faithful helper in
building and constructing the church facilities in South Carolina.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby Lee Gee Josey of Timmonsville, SC; three
daughters, Maggie (William) Abraham of Florence, SC, Ethel Mae (Kenneth) Dubose
of Darlington, SC and Rudine Josey of Timmonsville, SC;
two sons, Albert (Diane) Josey of Timmonsville, SC and Ernest (Cherry) Josey of
Florence, SC; adopted children; Sis. Earnestine
(Marvin) Mack of Darlington, SC, Deborah Waiters of Timmonsville, SC and Buster
Timothy (Sabrina) Johnson of Florence, SC; In-laws, Jessie Bell (Jeffrey) Barr;
Sarah Quillen, Edith (Ivory) Askin,
Ruth Helen Brown; Ada Mae Greene, Catherine (Dolphus) Johnson; Janie (Ernest) Couser;
Jonathan (Johnnie) Gee; Norman (Mildred) Gee; Lillie Bell Gee and Pearlie Mae
Gee; Twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren; a host of
nieces, nephews, church family and other close relatives and friends.
