Edna Arwood
Josey, 97, of Disputanta, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008.
She was a native of Disputanta, born the daughter of
the late Hugh T. and Renna B. Arwood.
Mrs. Josey was retired from the United States Postal Service after serving more
than 47 years as a postal clerk and postmaster, and was a lifelong member of
Trinity United Methodist Church in Disputanta, where
she served as organist and choir director.
She is the widow of Grover A. Josey and is survived by her son, G. Alexander
Josey and wife Nancy, of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Melissa Josey-White and
husband Michael White, of Ashburn, and Barbara Lee Josey of Denver; a
great-grandchild, Miranda Lillian White, of Ashburn; and numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Agnes Holdsworth.
The family will receive friends from 6
to 8 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A
funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.
Saturday at Trinity
United Methodist
Church in Disputanta with the Rev. Bert Cloud officiating. Interment
will follow in Southlawn Memorial
Park..
