JOSEY, Darcus Darcus Deaton Josey, 88, of Summerville, widow of Robert Josey, entered into eternal rest on April 13, 2009, at a local nursing home. Born February 15, 1921, in Charlotte, NC to the late Alfred Neal Deaton and Bertie Jane Martin. Mrs. Josey was a homemaker. She was a member of Park Circle Presbyterian Church, where she was the first female elder. She was a librarian for over 20 years in New York. Survivors include one sister, Peggy Stewart, widow of Lee Stewart of Rock Hill, SC; two sisters-in-law, Elene M. Deaton, widow of Richard Deaton of Charleston, SC, and Rose Deaton, widow of Martin Deaton, of Wilmington, NC; also, many nieces and nephews. The family would like to especially thank all the medical staff at the Presbyterian Home of Summerville for the help and support they have given Darcus during this past year. Especially, nurse Brenda who cared so much and loved her like we did. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009, 2 p.m., at the Presbyterian Home of Summerville.
