19 November 1793     CHARITY MADDRA, Widow of JAMES JOSSEY

 

     This indenture made this 20th day of November in the year of our Lord 1793,  Between CHARITY MADDRA, Widow of JAMES MADDRA, late, of Northampton County, dec'd of the first part and JAMES JOSSEY, WILLIAM JOSSEY, JOHN and WILLIS JOSSEY, minors of WILLIS JOSSEY, dec'd. of the second part.  Witnesseth that she is the said CHARITY MADDRA, for and in consideration of the love, good will and affection that she hath and doth bear unto them, the said THOMAS JOSSEY, STEPHEN JOSSEY, WILLIAM JOSSEY, and WILLIS JOSSEY, as well as for other good, causes her herein after mentioned for a necessary substance during her natural life hath given, granted, released, setover, conveyed and confirmed it by these presents, doth  fully, freely, and absolutely give, grant, and release unto, setover, convey and confirm unto them the said JAMES JOSSEY, STEPHEN JOSSEY, WILLIAM JOSSEY and WILLIS JOSSEY, their heirs, or assigns, all that mostly piece, parcel, or tract of land bequeathed to her, the said CHARITY MADDRA by her Father, WILLIAM L. SWENSON, dec'd. in his Last Will, to be equally divided in value between them when the youngest arrives to the age of Twenty One years, Containing by estimation 370 acres, more or less, to have and to hold the above demised land and premises, together with all privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to them the said JAMES JOSSEY, their heirs or assigns forever, to the only sole proper use & benefit and behalf of them the said JAMES JOSSEY, STEPHEN JOSSEY, WILLIAM JOSSEY, and WILLIS JOSSEY, their heirs or assigns forever, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above written.
